It's Configurations Time!
A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol 2, pages 33 and 34
With a crazy-awesome Tim Holtz prize package up for grabs!

Welcome back, blog friends (or, welcome, period, if it's your first visit)! Thanks for hanging in there with me during my big job transition. The long, LONG graveyard shifts are over, and I'm re-learning how to sleep at night. Finally, I have some time to be creative again, which my spirit needs... desperately!

This challenge is a two-week-long double-header comprised of Parts 1 and 2 of Tim's Configurations techniques from Compendium 2. Now's the time to either begin a new Configurations project, or (like I'll be doing) finish one that's been waiting for some attention. You're welcome to use any size of the Idea-ology Configurations boxes, or a Configurations tray for this project.

A great big challenge calls for a great big prize, and baby, I've got one! From the magical stash that Mario so kindly sent, there's a treasure trove of Tim Holtz goodness up for grabs! Check it out:

To participate in our super-sized CC2C #11/12 (and be eligible for Mario's awesome prize!), create your own Configurations art using the techniques of pages 33 and 34 of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2. Link a photo of your creation to this blog using the InLinkz button at the bottom of this post. You're a rockstar as long as you honor these simple rules:

Follow the technique as it's written in A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2 (adding your own special flair, of course!), and clearly state that the technique comes from Tim Holtz's book.
Include a link to this post in your blog post (or photo description if you're linking from an online photo-sharing site).

Out of respect to Tim, please don't post the technique instructions on your blog! Any entries that don't follow this rule will be unlinked.

This challenge closes on Thursday, July 12 at 8 pm MTD, and the winner will be announced in a special blog post that night.
Please see the CC2C FAQ here for more information.

Be aware, to qualify for the prize you don't have to submit a finished Configurations piece. You just have to complete the two techniques from the book. However, we'd all LOVE to see your finished masterpiece if you're able to get it done!

Okay, guys, go forth and configure! A huge thanks, too, to Linda at The Funkie Junkie's Boutique, sponsor of Challenge 10. Check out her post here, announcing the winner!

Have a wonderful, creative couple of weeks!

Hugs,
Linda

E-Team Farewell Blog Hop

Well, blog friends, as they say, "All good things..." This is the final blog hop by the eclectic Paperie E-Team. As you may know, Daisy, owner of eclectic Paperie, is beginning an exciting new chapter in her life, and we all wish her the absolute best of everything!

In keeping with the focus of our last few hops, we've each created a journal page, and this time the theme is "Inspired by Disney." All you have to do is utter the name "Disney" and the song "When You Wish Upon a Star" begins playing on the jukebox in my head, so that's where I went. This one's for Daisy, as she forges ahead to transform her dreams into reality:

As always, Daisy has a massively generous bunch of prizes to give away, and all you have to do to be eligible to win one is leave a comment at each participant's blog. You can do this anytime between now and Sunday, July 1, and all winners will be announced on the eclectic Paperie blog on Tuesday, July 3rd.

Each blog, including the eP blog, will offer a different prize! Here's what I get to give away:

Check out those awesome Tim Holtz stamps from Stampers Anonymous!

The eclectic Paperie E-Team is:
Daisy Sparks, our Fearless Leader
Linda Ledbetter (That's me!)

It's been such an honor to work with these incredibly talented artists. I'll miss their inspiration, humor and encouragement, and am looking forward to seeing where their visionary spirits take them. Daisy, Broni, Micki, Sherry and Starla, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are awesome.

And readers, thank YOU for stopping... and hopping...by!

Compendium of Curiosities 2, Challenge 10!

Hey blog friends, I'm extending Challenge 10 for a full week! My current (temporary!) schedule of 13-hour graveyard shifts at work has left me, well, completely stupid and unable to operate a glue stick. So... you have another week to submit your Tissue Wrap Flower art for a chance to win the Funkie Junkie Boutique gift certificate, and you're welcome to enter more than once.

Thanks for your patience while I test my workday fortitude!

Technique 10: Tissue Wrap Flowers

Happy Friday, blog friends!

This last "official" week of spring here in the northern hemisphere seems like a good time to play with Tim's ingenious Tissue Wrap Flowers! I went nuts over these when he introduced them during 12 Tags of Christmas last year, and have used them quite a bit in my art ever since. They're beautiful and a blast to make. I like to punch up the color with Alcohol Inks, but they're elegant and versatile uncolored, too.

They give great dimension to a card, but you can use the same technique with larger pieces of Tissue Wrap to create a full-on bouquet:

I love this stuff!!!

It's the third Friday of the month, and that means our challenge is sponsored by the awesome Funkie Junkie Boutique, who is graciously offering a $25 gift certificate to the winner of this week's challenge!

Okay, guys, go rock those Tissue Wrap flowers! I hope you have a great weekend, and happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there.

Hugs,
Linda

P.S. If you don't have them on hand, you'll want to get a bottle of Picket Fence Distress Stain, some Ranger Metal Foil Tape, some of Tim's Core'dinations paper, Kraft Glassine and Ranger Ink Refresher to add to your stash for upcoming challenges (not necessarily in that order). Also, get yourself a new Configurations box-- any size you like. I'll try to let you guys know in plenty of time when a challenge is coming up that requires a specific product beyond the standard Tim Holtz stash items.

Technique 9: Pocket Watch
Tim Holtz: A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2, page 35
Sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

Happy Friday, everyone! Wow, has this week ever zoomed by. Actually, 2012 has been zooming by, period, and it's amazing to think that here in the US, Fathers Day is nearly here. As you no doubt guessed, I used our Pocket Watch challenge to work up a little present for my dad. That's us in the grainy vintage photo. Hmmm... it kind of weird to be at the age where your own baby photo can be called "vintage!"

(Dad, if you're reading this... Happy early Fathers Day!)

I think the Pocket Watch from Idea-ology is one of the coolest products Tim has come up with yet. There's just SO much you can do with it, so many ways to make it a personal treasure, and I can't wait to see what you guys create for this challenge!

It's the second Friday of the month, and that means my sweet friends at Simon Says Stamp will be giving an awesome $25 gift certificate to one lucky, randomly-selected participant in this week's challenge!

Technique 8: Repurposed Packaging
Tim Holtz: A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2, page 62

Hello June, and hello awesome blog friends! This week's CC2C is all about up-cycling: Transforming what might be considered trash into something cool and crafty. Once you've played with Tim's clever techniques for turning old plastic packaging into rad craft embellishments, you'll start hoarding the stuff just to have it on hand for your next project! (Well, that's what I do, anyway...)

Tim show two methods of Repurposed Packaging in the Compendium. Your project can include either, or both!

To participate in CC2C #8, create your own work of art using the Repurposed Packaging technique on page 62 and link it to this blog using the InLinkz button at the bottom of this post. You're a rockstar as long as you honor these simple rules:
Follow the technique as it's written in A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2 (adding your own special flair, of course!), and clearly state that the technique comes from Tim's book.
Include a link to this post in your blog post (or photo description if you're linking from an online photo-sharing site).
Out of respect to Tim, please don't post the technique instructions on your blog! Any entries that don't follow this rule will be unlinked.
This challenge closes on Thursday, June 7 at 8 pm MTD.
Please see the CC2C FAQ here for more information.

If you participated in last week's CC2C #7, you're awesome, and you'll want to keep on eye on the eclectic Paperie blog, as Daisy is going to announce the winner of the challenge very soon. Thanks so much, Daisy!

Have a fantastic beginning to the sweet month of June, everyone!

Hugs,
Linda
